The Foyer is the entrance to the Town Hall.  This can be used for small concerts or events, with the staircase forming an impressive backdrop.  It also houses a baby grand piano.  There are a number of hanging rails around the walls that suit bigger pieces of art work.

This space has been used to house school work, Cloth Road Art Trail and Trowbridge Arts Festival exhibitions, craft fairs and music concerts.

The space measures:10m x 7m by 4.6m (height), this includes structural pillars so does not represent a complete performance space.

The space measures: 9.5m x 8m by 3.7m (height).  The plinth measures 4m x 1.5m x 1m (height)

Technical Equipment

Trowbridge Arts has 8 fresnels on four stands.  The control box allows each light to be indivdually controlled.  These are portable so can be used in any of our spaces at a maximum distance apart of 11m.  We currently have no gel stock as companies generally bring their own.

Sound equipment consists of Eurodesk SX2442FX sound desk and a W audio DA800 Series Propower amp.

Background Information

For many years the building served as the offices of the Trowbridge Urban District Council. The building was also used for many public events such as Carnival and New Year Balls, dances, and the Top Twenty concerts where many (now famous) pop groups performed in the 1960's.  In more recent years it was also used as the Coroner's Court.

Trowbridge Town Hall is managed by Trowbridge Town Hall Trust and supported by volunteers.
