Trowbridge Laughs has been programmed by Backyard Comedy Club supported by an old friend of Trowbridge, Lee Hurst who headlined out first Trowbridge Arts Festival and had a sell out Gig at The Arc Theatre.
We plan to create a comedy club at Town Hall Arts that brings some of the best comedians to Trowbridge from London and beyond. Our first gig will offer a compere and 3 comedians for a full night which we know will ensure ‘Trowbridge Laughs’.
Come along, let us know what you think and if you like it we’ll make it a monthly event in the new year.
Compere – Sally-Anne Hayward
“Hayward is a bubbly stream of comedy anecdotes… a delightfully chatty act…an immensely likeable stage manner.” – Chortle
An accomplished radio presenter with stage and TV acting credentials(‘Absolutely Fabulous’ BBC, ‘Why the Long Faces’ Square Donkey Productions, and various TV warm-up including ‘Deal or No Deal’ Channel 4), Sally-Anne’s confident persona and quick wit have rapidly made her a much sought-after compere.
“Guaranteed to be well-received, especially as his material is so universal… a reliably funny addition to any bill” – Chortle
Fluid, quick thinking and lively, David’s spontaneity has made him the choice host for the BBC’s New Comedy Awards heats, as well as the rounds for C5’s So You Think You’re Funny?
His quirky performance showcases his talent as both actor and comic. Creative and rather unusual, it opens the show with a high and Bran’s a hard act to follow. – ThreeWeeks
James Bran is a fast-rising talent on the UK comedy circuit. Refreshingly different, whilst still appealing to mainstream comedy audiences, he’s bringing his quirky blend of stand-up and comic poetry to clubs all over the country.
“Big personality… bold act … sure crowd-pleaser” – City Lights
Quincy is regarded as one of the best of a new wave of Comic’s to come out of the UK, with a regular turnover of material and a stage presence second to none – that has put him among the most well respected Comics on the scene.
